Cookie policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies, such as local storage in your browser and software identifiers in our app. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of these.

This policy explains which cookies GB Media Limited uses on www.gbmusicradio.com, our web player and the GB Radio app, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

2. The types of cookies we use

Strictly necessary. These make the website and player work, for example by keeping the stream connected, balancing traffic across our servers, protecting against misuse and remembering your cookie choices. They cannot be switched off.

Preferences. These remember choices you make, such as your volume level or display settings. We set these without asking first, because they only change how the site looks or behaves for you. You can switch them off in Cookie Settings.

Statistics. These count visits and listening sessions and show us which pages and features are used, so we can improve the Service. They give us aggregated figures and are not used to identify you or for advertising. UK law allows us to use them without asking first, provided we tell you about them and let you opt out. You can opt out at any time in Cookie Settings.

Advertising and social media. These are set by us or our partners to measure or personalise advertising, or to let you share content on social media. We only use these if you agree, by choosing “Accept” in our cookie banner.

We review this list regularly.

4. Third-party platforms

If you listen through a smart speaker, TuneIn, Nation Player or another third-party app, that provider may use its own cookies or identifiers. These are covered by the provider’s own cookie and privacy policies, not this one. Embedded content and links to social media sites may also set cookies once you interact with them.

You can change your choices at any time by selecting Cookie Settings at the bottom of any page.

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Guidance for most browsers is available at ico.org.uk. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site, including the player, may not work.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the cookies we use change. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed.
